Think about some of the greatest moments in history. Brilliantly coordinated elections. Championship-winning moments. Epic battles. Storied showdowns. Leaders turned legends, getting the job done when it mattered most. No matter their field, their moment in time or their game-changing accomplishment, one thing unifies them all: they had a plan and they had people. They planned to invade at dusk, to implement that play or to target those selling points to win over hoards of voters. And they planned to do it all with the right people in their corners—the passionate squads who could help them achieve massive success.
How does this impact you and your real estate investing business? It’s simple: you need to follow their lead. You need a game plan. You need people—a coach, specifically. You need to put those powerhouse pieces in motion, as if you were one of these renowned doers. You need to plan the work, work the plan and tap someone who can help light the way. And you need to do it now.
Why You Need a PLAN
Whether it’s real estate investing, politics, sports or anything, really, there’s so much out of your control. That’s not meant to pop any figurative balloons, it’s just meant to be a quick gut-check before we dive in. As a real estate investor, you can be the very best there is but, still, there’s a lot you can’t impact. Economies rise and fall, employment rates skyrocket and tumble, markets are decidedly buyer then wholly seller—it happens and it will all happen if you stay in this industry long enough. I’ve been doing this for more than 10 years. I’ve flipped well over 1,000 properties. And I’ve seen it all.
But, often, I hear many real estate investors claim this as their reason for not making a plan. And I’m here to tell you that that makes zero sense. With so much out of your control, why wouldn’t you try to manage anything and everything you can? Why wouldn’t you follow a smart, strategic system that guides you to success—the same that helped me generate seven figures from flipping?
Face it: you need a game plan. My game plan is my powerhouse system—the exact same system I share with my students at the Nick Vertucci Real Estate Academy (NVREA) and at my workshops and seminars across the country. It’s anchored in mindset and effort. Having a Real Estate Investor Mindset is key to your success. Remember the steps?
1. See it— picture what you want in a deep, visceral way
2. Believe it—dig deep and make sure you really believe in what you’re seeing. You can achieve it
3. Map it—this is the PLAN stage! Map how you’ll get from what you see to what you achieve.
4. Execute it—you’ve planned the work, now work the plan. Put the wheels in motion and go.
While the process sounds simple enough, I can’t tell you how many people just go at it, swinging (and missing!) in the dark. They have a mental framework of what comes next. hey realize they need to find a deal, fund a deal and flip a deal—but they never take the time to map out what it really looks like or what steps they need to take to achieve their goal. They just start in, hoping for the best—and, often, they get the worst.
Don’t be that investor. Have a game plan in place. If you’re struggling to get there, sign up for the next NVREA session or check out when we’ll be in your city next, and join one of our workshops or seminars. Trust me, you’ll walk out with a incredible game plan that’s 100% doable and 100% effective.
Why You Need a COACH
Everyone needs a coach. I’ve said over and over that I learn something new every day. My students, my team, my fellow investors—I’ve learned endless tips, tricks, insights and best practices from every single one of them. It’s part of being a successful real estate investor. ou can never stop learning.
Enter your coach. That coach? ME. I’ve got the game plan and I’ve got 10 years and 1,000+ flips under my belt. I always tell my students that they have two choices. Option one: they, too, can invest a decade in refining their investment strategy and system and, in the end, achieve true financial freedom. That’s what I did. Or, option two: they can learn from my experiences, dodging some of the missteps and pitfalls new investors—myself included—make, especially in the beginning. And they can zip through those 10 years in one month.
Seems pretty obvious to me.
As your coach, I’ll help you steer clear of the all-too-common dangers that can leave you scrambling, at best, or could destroy your business, at worst. By guiding and coaching you in your journey to make money from real estate investing, you’ll gain all of the shortcuts and quick tips that, together, can accelerate your success and help you get to your goals that much faster.
And besides helping you craft that game plan, a coach like me can help you as you continue on your investor journey. When you slip, a coach will help you get back up. When you feel like no one gets it, a coach is there to tell you that this exact same thing happened in their business—and that, now, they’re better for it. A coach is your constant go-to, your confidante and your strategic advisor. I have a coach. I’ve had many mentors. And, again, I’m a student of the industry—everyone’s my teacher, including these coaches, mentors and, of course, my own students. So consider me Coach Nick—your Coach Nick—and consider this our first practice. Go team!
There’s a lot I practice and preach in this industry, but nothing is more important than having a game plan and a coach. Plan the work. Work the plan. Find your tribe. Do those three things and you’ll excel in real estate investing. Check out the upcoming sessions of NVREA or see when we’ll be stopping by your city. There’s no better way to start crafting your plan than in person. See you there.
